Committees
The Society for South Asian Heart Research (SAHR) has several committees focused on fostering collaboration, advancing cardiovascular research, and supporting its members. These committees work together to advance SAHR's mission of improving cardiovascular health research and outreach in south asian communities.
Early Career Committee
The Early Career Committee (ECC) at the Society for South Asian Heart Research (SAHR) aims to provide a platform for early-stage investigators (including doctoral, postdoctoral, and assistant professors or equivalent).
Program Committee
The Asian cardiovascular symposium (ACS) is a half-day pre-meeting symposium of the Basic Cardiovascular Sciences (BCVS) scientific sessions. The ACS aims to promote the AHA mission and to facilitate outreach concerning the Asian Cardiovascular Science communities.
Membership Committee
The Membership Committee of the Society for South Asian Heart Research (SAHR) focuses on creating strategies to attract and retain members and promote collaboration.
Mentorship Committee
Mentorship is a collaborative learning process that draws upon the knowledge of a variety of faculty (senior faculty members/peers), who can provide guidance to new faculty entering the professoriate or to more senior faculty transitioning to new roles.
Communications Committee
The Communications Committee of the Society for the South Asian Heart Research (SAHR) is dedicated to utilizing different social media as marketing vehicles and engagement platforms.
Metabolic sub-group
The Metabolism Group within SAHR is dedicated to promoting translational cardiovascular regenerative research impacting metabolic health such as diabetes mellitus, prediabetes, obesity and endocrinopathies.
